Cricket's Three Formats and Bangladeshi Fans
In Bangladesh, cricket is more than a game — it is a feeling. bet bed lets you bet on all three major formats: T20, ODI and Test cricket. Each format has its own pace and character, so the approach to betting differs as well.
T20 — the fastest and most intense format. A match is over in just 20 overs, so odds move quickly. BPL, IPL and the T20 World Cup are all played in this format. BPL is particularly popular among Bangladeshi cricket fans because you can follow domestic players' performances directly.
ODI — in a 50-over match, tactics and consistency matter more. The ICC ODI World Cup is the biggest event in this format. Betting markets tend to be more varied, as the longer innings gives more opportunity for the situation to change mid-way through.
Test — a five-day match demands patience and reading ability. A draw is a possible result here, so there are three markets: Team A wins, Team B wins, or draw. The odds across these three outcomes are generally distributed differently from ODI or T20.
You can also bet on football and other sports at bet bed, though unlike cricket they are not seasonal — they run throughout the year and the number of markets varies. Cricket's ball-by-ball data means there are far more live betting opportunities.
Popular Betting Markets
These are the most widely used markets for cricket betting at bet bed. A brief overview of each is below.
Match Winner
The simplest market — which team will win the match. In T20 or ODI there are two outcomes (Team A or Team B); in Test there are three (Team A, Team B, draw). Example: if Team A has higher odds, the market considers them less likely to win.
Most PopularToss Winner
Which team will win the toss before the match begins. The outcome is purely 50/50, so the odds for both teams are usually close to each other. A quick decision to make.
Pre-MatchTop Batsman
Which batsman will score the most runs for their team. This market offers separate odds for each key batter in the lineup. Pitch conditions and batting order are relevant factors here.
IndividualTotal Runs Over/Under
A bet on whether the total runs in a match or innings will be more (over) or less (under) than a set number. Pitch conditions, weather and the teams' batting strength can all be taken into account.
Runs-BasedMulti Bet (Multiple Selections)
Combining three or more match outcomes into a single bet — the odds are multiplied. Example: if three selections have odds of 1.40, 1.60 and 1.70, the combined odds are 1.40 × 1.60 × 1.70 ≈ 3.81. A ৳100 bet returns ৳381 if all win, but if even one loses, the full ৳100 is gone.
High ReturnMan of the Match
A bet on who will be recognised as the best performer at the end of the match. Either a bowler or a batsman can take the award, so the odds are spread across a range of players.
Special MarketHow to Read Odds
bet bed displays odds in three formats: decimal, fractional and American. All three convey the same information — only the way they are written differs. See the two examples below:
| Format | Value | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Decimal | 2.50 | Stake × 2.50 = total return |
| Fractional | 3/2 | ৳3 profit for every ৳2 |
| American | +150 | ৳150 profit on a ৳100 bet |
| If you win: ৳1,000 stake + ৳1,500 profit = ৳2,500 returned. If you lose: ৳1,000 is gone. | ||
| Format | Value | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Decimal | 1.50 | Stake × 1.50 = total return |
| Fractional | 1/2 | ৳1 profit for every ৳2 staked |
| American | -200 | You need to stake ৳200 to make ৳100 profit |
| A ৳1,000 winning bet returns ৳1,500 (৳500 profit). If you lose, ৳1,000 is gone. | ||
Lower odds means favourite, higher odds means underdog
Decimal odds never go below 1.00. The closer odds are to 1.00, the more certain the market considers that outcome. Odds of 2.50 on a ৳1,000 bet means a total return of ৳2,500 — that is ৳1,500 profit. Odds of 1.50 on ৳1,000 means only ৳500 profit.
In American format, a plus (+) sign indicates the underdog and a minus (−) sign indicates the favourite. −200 means you need to stake ৳200 to win ৳100 profit — a minus odds figure always indicates you need a larger stake.
In a limited-overs match (T20, ODI) there is no draw, so there are only two possible outcomes. For detailed betting rules, read the Terms and Conditions.
LIVELive Betting — Odds Change as the Game Goes On
Live or in-play betting is different from pre-match betting — here the odds update at every moment of the match. In cricket this makes for a particularly engaging experience.
When a wicket falls — the batting team's odds generally rise (become harder), as their ability to score runs decreases. The bowling team's odds come down.
As overs progress — when the runs required increase or decrease, the over/under market odds shift quickly. In the last 5 overs, when run pressure builds, there can be big moves in the total runs market.
Powerplay and death overs — in T20, the first 6 overs and the last 4 overs typically produce more runs, so the odds are most active during these phases.
For live betting, a stable internet connection is important, and confirm the odds shown on screen before placing each bet, as odds can change within seconds.
Practical Tips for Cricket Betting
Betting is for entertainment — no one can guarantee a profit. Following the habits below will help keep your experience more organised.
- 1 Set a budget. Decide in advance how much you will put into betting each day or each week, and stick to that limit. Betting is a form of entertainment, not a source of income.
- 2 Focus on one market. When starting out, it is better to get comfortable with a straightforward market like match winner. Spreading across too many markets at once divides your attention.
- 3 Be careful with multi bets. Even if the combined odds look large, one losing selection means the whole bet is gone. Adding more than three selections to a multi bet raises the risk quickly.
- 4 Avoid rushing in live betting. Because odds change fast, many people make snap decisions — this is one of the most common mistakes. Take a moment to think before you act.
- 5 Do not increase your stakes after a loss. Placing larger bets to recover losses usually leads to even bigger losses. To learn more about responsible betting habits, read the Responsible Gaming Guide.
- 6 Adjust your approach for each format. What works in T20 may not apply in Test cricket. Each format has its own pace and characteristics.
Football and Other Sports
Alongside cricket, you can also bet on football at bet bed. There are some fundamental differences between cricket and football betting:
A football match ends in 90 minutes and three outcomes are possible in regular time — win, loss and draw. In T20 or ODI cricket there are generally only two outcomes. In football a goal happens at a specific moment, so live odds do not update over-by-over as in cricket — instead they jump sharply after a goal.
In terms of market variety, cricket has special markets such as over/under, top batsman, top bowler and innings score — which are not available in football. Football, on the other hand, has more handicap betting and corner/card markets.
